somebodies gonna get their head chopped.....
Now at my uncle's place seeing my grandma... who's doing ok... but rather slow recovery.....
and watching NDP 06. I must say.... for the final NDP to be held at the national stadium.... this years parade is rather....... DISAPPOINTING!
Its suppose to be grand! suppose to be spectacular! but it's honestly pretty mediocre..... sad....
and not to mention... its completely mad that NDP 06 is live yet it has ADVERTISEMENTS!!! COMMERCIAL BREAKS!!!! HUH!!!!???!!!!
and not to mention all the technical glitches like the tv going completely silent for a good min.....
guess they concentrated too much on it being the last year of the stadium instead of the pther important aspects like making sure the mic works.....

so many things happening......
back from holidays..... trying to find a new job......
but so many things happening at one go......
and they're not the happiest of things.....
firstly.... yesterday... found out that my godpa is diagnosed with 2nd stage breast cancer....
yes... breast cancer of all things.......
so guys! be aware... breast cancer do not only happen to females.... though a rarity... males can get it too....
and while we were having dinner today..... before going down to visit him..... my uncle called and said that my grandmother was getting warded......
apparently.... she fell ill and we found out in the hospital that her illness had triggered a mild heart attack....
she's in hospital now and mom's there looking after her tonight...... boo and i will be down tmr night to do the grave yard shift....
hope everything will be well... but i really hate to admit the fact that i have that fear that this could be a bad turning point for my grandma....
see.... 3 yrs ago.... she underwent a cataract operation to one eye to improve her eye sight.....
of coz after an op like that... she wasn't suppose to expose her eyes to any form of heat for at least 2 weeks.... but that dear grandmother of mine decided to start cooking after 2 days.....
obviously it hurt her eye and she never went for to do the other eye because of the pain... which would have never occured if she listened to the doctors orders....
from then on..... her conditioned worsened coz one eye could see clearly while the other was still blur so this caused her to get bad headaches... and she started to stay in bed.. not wanting to go out saying it was troublesome and she couldn't see.... and she never wanted to use a walking stick because she said it looked "obiang".....
from then... she bascially stopped walking around the house and has been wheel chair and bed ridden....
and it all happened in 2 1/2 years....
imagin... from running around.... and playing mahjong weekly to completely bed ridden.... 2 1/2 years....
that's y i'm scared that this would be a bad turning point for her......
I juz hope that she doesn't look at this as a set back... and recover instead of giving up completely......

their back!
can you believe it? i can't! for all the boy band fans.... TAKE THAT is BACK!
ok yeah i admit it... before i listened to rock and r&b.. there was a boy bad that i really did like... and that was take that.....
i even watched their concert in Singapore when i was like sec 2 i think! ages ago!
for all of you that can remember them.... as you recall, they disbanded in 95 i think... or something like that... but in 2005 they reported that they were getting back together and in April 2006... they did! holding their first concert!
For all of you who don't remember them, here's a recap of what and who Take That were all about!
Take That was of coz the original band which Robbie Williams first started out. Made out of Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and Mark Owen from Manchester and Robbie from London.
Take That were known as the pioneers of their genre of music and has since paved the way for other boy bands like Boyzone (who has now also disbanded) and of coz Westlife.
Here's a little look back to who they were.....
The Albums!
Take That and Party
Everything Changes

BACK!
my my my.... 6 mths of not blogging..... my blog's getting lonely....
anyway time for a little update.
Firstly.. i've been working for the last 6 mths but i'm planning to hand in my resignation on Monday.
Why??
Firstly, the oay's just not enough for me to survive on.
secondly, I'm completely not appreciated.... AT ALL!!!
All these while i was suppose to be a sales exec but i was asked to do guiding. No problem, i made sure i be the best guide i could. At the same time, i'm the complete adhoc boy, fix the coms, fix the printers, do last minute delivery, cover whichever place we have which lack guides that day and all this while expecting to ask CCs to pay $15 for a tour.
So anyway, i've ben trying to persuade CCs to have tours with us the last 2 mths and yesterday, my boss, Mr. P, decides to have a talk with me and my department manager. The one line he said has made me realised it's time i leave. He said " do you know why i havent been talking to you the last few months? Coz you're not important to me." WTF!!!!! He goes on to say, " You've been handling this harmony tour for so many months and it's not earning, If you were making $500K a month for me a year, of coz i'll be talking to you more because you're very important to me, helping me earn so much a year. But now, the harmony tour just breaking even. If you leave tmr i won't have a problem replacing you."
EXCUSE ME!!!!! IF IT WASN'T FOR ME, YOUR LAST MINUTE PAYMENTS TO AIA WOULD'T HAVE REACHED THEM! YOUR ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO PRINT JACK! AND YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TOUR GUIDES THAT COULD MAKE THE CUT!
So fine since i'm not IMPORTANT... i'll leave....
and to make it clear, the Singapore Harmony Tour is meant for CCs organised by JSSC and PA. We're not suppose to be making alot from it!!
So anyway, i've made up my mind and i'm leaving.
and thirdly, I don't want to be in a company they expects the most out of you, tries paying you minimal wage and can't even do their part of paying their share of CPF ! That's right.... i've had 2 people leave the comapny and when they check their CPF.... were only given 1 mth after working for 6 mths!
So basically, we're meant to put in all the effort, in helping the company earn, making sure customers and bosses are happy but they can't even do a simple thing like paying us on time or paying CPF.... haha sorry, not my kind of job.
Anyway, enough of the bitching, i've decided to make a few changes to my blog. Obviously if there's still bitching i'd do it but i want to concentrate on one thing.... FOOD! hee
So every entry, i'll be recommending places to eat and places not to as well as yummy recipes so now for the first recommendation.
THE GOOD!The Giraffe restaurant and barOh man, where do i even start! Ok. The giraffe is located at Istana Park ( across the road from PS).
The giraffe not only thrives on ambience but food as well. The setting is a nice modern mix of zen and really chic furniture with warm lighting making it the ultimate chill out place away from the loud music and crowds of other bars. They've even got big sofas for when you're there in a big group. Service staff may look a little sloppy and slack dress in baggy tshirts and 3 quaters or berms but dun be decieved, the dressing doesn't take away the serivice that these people supply. Always friendly and always smiling, they even try to have little conversations with you which gives this place a more comfortable, at home feel.
Now for the food. Mostly fusion food ( east meets west ) , which is fantastic coz if anyone's mastered the art of making fusion, its these people.
We Tried 2 starters and 2 pastas. Started off with a giraffe ceaser which was yummy, really fresh romane lettuce with amazingly, a whole poached egg! Now that's something new. Served with delightfully fresh , cruchy grilled prawns!
The other one was crumbed mushrooms. Basically, button mushrooms covered with bread crumbs and grilled. This dish was amazing! Crispy on the outside and juicy and exploding with mushroom taste on the inside. Defintely made my day. You'd be blown away by how they retained all the juices in the mushroom!
Now for the pasta, the boo ordered the seafood angel hair in laksa sauce (LaKsA sAuCe?!?!?!)
don't be taken away by the sound of it. The laksa sauce was light yet very tastY! and the angel hair done to absolute perfection! Served with really yummy fresh seafood (which is always important.) Absolutely lovely.
I had the black ink linguini served in a tomato based sauce.
Now i'm a realy pasta person... I LOVE my pastas! and my expectations for them is very high as well but this dish, this dish blew me away.
Linguini, cooked to perfection! and the sauce was this amazing tomato based sauce made with sun dried tomatos and some other bits they blended with. The flavour was unbelivable.... and was served with fresh prawns which was good toO!! ( these people sure makes sure that FRESH means FRESH!)
So this is definately a place i'd recommend anyone to go. Prices is slighly above average with us paying $55+ for the 4 dishes but it was definately worth it!

THE NOT SO GOODHokkien Mee at Food RepublicThe first time i was at Food Republic, i was really suprised by what they did with the place. New concept for a food court, very well done. Then i saw it, a stall witha really really long que. Hmmm hokkien mee and popular too. Worth a try
Unfortunately, it didn't live up the the hype. The pictures of the chef attending the Culinary Academy of America was impressive and so was the gimmick with the straw hats but not the noodles. I mean it was nicely presented it a banana leaf "bowl" and smelt good but it was a little too salty for my liking. And even with a tiny squeeze of lime, it made it even saltier. Kinda disappointed but well, it's not the worst that i've had but it certainly wasn't fantastic.

gonna start work soon.... CHRISTMAS IS NEARING!!
well... ffinally i've found a job but i won't be starting till like the 2nd of jan... which is kinda stupid coz on the 13th i'll be flying of to chiang mai already... so i really gotta learn my stuff really quickly....
anyway... iknow i havent been updating a while......coz i haven't really been bothered *oops*
anyway... was reading an old enry of XX's blog and it's so fun to see SPH getting under her skin... but honestly.. she's one of those people that loves to live in conreversy.... well which celebrity doesn't have controversy?? so i guess her being a "celebrity" she wants the attention as well....
I really really hope someone juz sues her ass really badly.. maybe then she'd grow up and learn... but then again.... she's got such a thick skin [plus a really thick layer of make-up], i doubt it'd have any effect on her....
haven't really been doing much this week... been another OK week at mambo.... met up with my uncle for movie again... KING KONG.... [ we really should watch these long 3hrs movies earlier].
we caught our show at like 1.15 am..... almost the same time as potter... and both were as long as each other... well at leas Kong was a lot better....
but the movie.. for all its laughter and actions... really got me thinking bout something....
what if a giant gorilla like kong really did exist?
would it be treated the same way? as some beast?? savage beast?
i mean we've seen how some movies have potrayed animals...
how jaws made the great white shark the most feared fish in the sea...or how an anaconda now is prob the most feared snake in the world?
its really good to see that there are more people who are interested in studying and actually understanding of these misunderstood animals...
but there are always more people who will always think that these "creatures" are the most savage creatures around... forgetting the point that there is still 1 animal that is the deadliest of them all........ a human....
no other animal on this planet can cause more damage, more deaths then any animal on earth...
we're on top of the food chain... killing and eating juz about anything that can be eaten.
We create more disasters and kill more animals and people in a 10 min war then any great white can do....
and there are certainly more deaths by murders in a day then there are deaths by a shark attacks in 10 yr period.
scarey isn't it.....
even our once quite singapore has had a steady increase of deadly crimes...
i mean... since when in our entire history have we been caught up in 2 body hacking incident in a matter of months??
so you see.... humans are definately more dangerous then any other animal... but well.... if someone ever tried creating a movie about it... it'd never be much of a hit would it??
anyway... speaking of singapore.... within the last few days..... i've realised that it's either my imagination.... or singaporeans are getting more caught up in themselves and are gettin more selfish by the day....
i've come across 2 incidents in 2 days that just disguss me.....
firstly... the other day... i was clearing the empty boxes in my house and had to bring them down to discard... i was with boo so there was 2 of us with 4 huge boxes....
now anyway... we reached the ground floor and had to move the boxes out and there were 3 people who were waiting outside the lift....
here's the amazing bit... none of them.... bothered to even hold the door open for us to move the boxes.... NONE!!! one lad was even standing in front of the button and didn't even bother stretching out her hand like 5cm to reach for the button....instead she chose to juz stand there.. like the other 2... staring at us like moving boxes was the rarest thing u'd ever see in the world...
and these were completely 3 different types of people... 1 was a late 20s lady... wearing office clothes... another was a teenager and the 3rd was some 40+ year old in a power suite....
unfortunately... all had the same mentality....
the other incident was at cineleisure.....
the exact same thing happened! my uncle , boo, uncle's friend and myself were gonna get out of the lift... and these group of teens would rather attempt to squeeze pass us into the life instead of holding the lift doors open.... sure cine's lift like most modern day lifts are made with motion detactors as the door wouldn't close if there was an object or person in the way... but do these modern day equipments mean we can completely forget about being courteous?
or is it coz singaporeans know that life in singapore is getting harder... and that everyone is so caught up about themselves that they really dun care about anyone else anymore...
i wonder if this "kiasu" syndrom happens anywhere else in the world.....
I remember that after the moster tsunami... and all the quakes and natual disasters going on... there was a headline on the news paper saying "why is mother nature so angry".
well it's obvious isn't it.....
terrorisism has gone to and all time high
there are more deaths more killings more suicides around the world now then there was say 30yrs ago...
and people nowadays are juz becoming more absorb in the 7 deadly sins now.....
it's no wonder she's angry... heck i bet even god is angry.... no matter wat religion u are... the belief that a god had created our world..... but now... we have men who wanna be god.... with all the clonning going on....
to me... i think when that has finaly been fully discovered... then we will see armaegeddon.... where everything will be destroyed, then having another chance to devalope again....
after all.... if u've seen the earths history, u'd realise that everytime the animals of that era has reached its full potential... when they are at their peak.... everything gets distroyed and is started all over again....
now is a matter of when this era's full potential will be... let's juz hope that's its not in the next 60 yrs.... then again... we won't really know would it....

another OK week...thanks for the best mambo in a month
well another relatively ok week has come and gone....
well on the up side... at least it was a relatively good mambo.. not fantastic but a lot better then those we've had to endure for the last month....
hmmm... maybe its a trend, that only the last mambo of the month will be good.....
anyway.. i wanna explain about a comment i made at shell the other night... apparently... there was some misunderstanding with a comment i made about being more intolerable to trouble makers at zouk now then i was back in the past, saying that i spent my days at home tolerating the "bullying" i recieve from my boo and then venting it out at these trouble makers on wednesdays....
well... to start... the comment i made was meant as a joke! apparently nobody thought of it that way and a few friends even started to msg boo to say it seems that i wasn't happy and whether she was ok....
ermm to start with.... i had a comical face when making that comment....although i guess either nobody caught it or everyone was just too tired....
the other thing is... people who do know me well enough know that i would never start an arguement outside the house.. even less among the company of friends.....i mean if you don't respect each other enough to keep your lover spats private then at least respect your friends by not putting them in such an uncomfortable position. Nobody likes to see friends argue... even worst if it was being in the middle of one...
and just to let youo know.. there is nothing wrong with my relationship.. sure we find it more difficult things to do as the days go by but we still enjoy each other's company....
Anyway... today's paper's came up with a very interesting topic... on whether bloggers are becoming more "reckless" in their entries....
well gotta go prepare lunch now.... will be back to talk more about that later....
*out...*
